Paralio Astros is a beautiful small town that part of it is built on the slopes of the asteroid hill that locals call “Island”. The “Island” of Paralio Astros is crowned with a castle built during the Greek Revolution of 1821 on a pre-existing Venetian building. The long beaches and crystal clear waters make Paralio Astros one of the best resorts in the Peloponnese region. Plenty of seafood taverns, restaurants, cafés, apartments for rent and hotels are ready to accomodate guests all year long. The journey from Athens (165 km) and Nafplio (30 km) is relatively short, so Astros serves as an ideal getaway, esppecially on weekends. At Paralio Astros, there is an outdoor theater, where many cultural and artistic events take place during the summer. There is also a Marine Sailing Club with an open water swimming school that holds special classes for children. The Club operates all year round and has its own boats for young students (optuniste & fazer). The natural port of Paralio Astros, sheltered from bad weather, hosts sailing and fishing boats. Boat trips take interesting excursions to Argosaronikos
